Answer:The polyimide interface liner is designed for 320 µm (0.32 mm) capillary GC columns.
Answer:No. It is a W-series valve capillary interface component, not a sample vaporization liner for a GC injection port.
Answer:Check the capillary-column diameter and the associated W-series valve union, nut and ferrule arrangement.
The Agilent 320 µm capillary column interface liner is a polyimide connector component designed for W-series gas chromatographic sampling valve systems. Its purpose is to help connect a 0.32 mm nominal inner-diameter fused-silica capillary column to compatible valve and transfer-line hardware. The liner is associated with the W-series valve interface and should not be confused with an ordinary split/splitless injection-port liner or a quartz inlet insert. Proper installation supports a leak-tight connection and controlled flow through the capillary and valve plumbing. Match the liner with the installed valve series, column dimensions, bulkhead union, nut and ferrule before beginning service. Make clean column cuts, use the specified installation procedure and avoid over-compressing the polyimide interface element. After reconnecting the column, verify the absence of carrier-gas leakage and confirm correct flow routing in each valve position. The 320 µm liner is different from the 530 µm variant; using the wrong internal-diameter interface can cause poor fit, sample leakage or mechanical damage. Do not treat these two sizes as interchangeable.
