Agilent J&W DB-WAX is a high-polarity polyethylene glycol GC column for resolving polar volatile analytes. The 20 m fused-silica capillary uses a 0.18 mm internal diameter and a 0.18 µm film, providing a narrow-bore, thin-film format suited to appropriately configured fast GC methods. Its wax stationary phase is useful for separations involving alcohols, esters, and related oxygenated compounds. The column is supplied on a 7-inch cage with a specified temperature range of 20 to 250/260 °C. The narrow bore requires compatible carrier-gas flow and injection conditions rather than direct use of conventional 0.32 or 0.53 mm methods.
