Answer:DB-608 is a mid-polarity capillary GC phase, providing selectivity distinct from low-polarity HP-5 columns.
Answer:The capillary is 30 m long, 0.25 mm ID and has a 0.25 µm stationary-phase film.
Answer:The nominal operating range is 40 °C to 280/300 °C, depending on the temperature program.
The Agilent J&W DB-608 capillary GC column provides a mid-polarity stationary phase for separations that require selectivity different from low-polarity general-purpose columns. The fused-silica column has a 30 m length, 0.25 mm internal diameter and 0.25 µm film thickness, supplied on a standard 7-inch cage. DB-608 chemistry is used for halogenated organic compounds, pesticide-related analyses and other applications where specific retention patterns are important. The nominal temperature range is 40 °C to 280/300 °C, with the higher limit applying to temperature-programmed use. Carrier-gas flow, injection technique and oven temperature programming must be optimized against the analytical method and target analyte set. A stable inlet seal, appropriate ferrules and controlled column conditioning help reduce contamination, peak tailing and excessive bleed. This is a capillary separation column, not a packed column or sample-preparation cartridge.
