The Agilent Bio WCX NP5 column is a weak cation-exchange HPLC column for charge-variant analysis of proteins and peptides. This configuration uses 5 µm nonporous particles in a 4.6 × 50 mm column with PEEK hardware. The PEEK construction supports use with biocompatible or bio-inert LC systems and reduces unnecessary metal contact in sensitive biomolecule separations. The WCX stationary phase provides ion-exchange selectivity for analytes whose charge changes with mobile-phase pH and ionic strength. The column is rated to approximately 413 bar and can operate up to 80 °C over a pH range of about 2–12. It is supplied in phosphate buffer and is intended for analytical biopharma separations, including protein charge-variant characterization.
