Answer:Split injection, particularly high-flow and high split-ratio GC methods.
Answer:4 mm internal diameter, 6.25 mm outside diameter and 78.5 mm length, with about 870 µL internal volume.
Answer:It promotes sample vaporization and retains nonvolatile residue that could otherwise contaminate the inlet or column.
Agilent Ultra Inert low-pressure-drop split inlet liners promote consistent sample vaporization in capillary gas chromatography, particularly with high carrier-gas flows and high split-ratio methods. The liner has a single-taper low-pressure-drop geometry, a 4 mm internal diameter, a 6.25 mm outside diameter and a length of 78.5 mm. Its internal volume is approximately 870 µL. Mid-positioned glass wool helps distribute injected liquid and retain nonvolatile sample residues, while the Ultra Inert deactivated surface is designed to reduce unwanted interactions with active analytes. The geometry is offset from the inlet base to reduce turbulence and column-head backpressure. A pack contains 25 liners. Use the manufacturer's clean installation procedure, verify the compatible inlet seal and operating configuration, and replace liners when carryover, peak shape or contamination indicates declining inlet performance. Match the liner to the injection mode: the split design is not a general substitute for a splitless liner.
