Answer:It removes moisture and sulfur-containing gases such as H2S, COS and SO2.
Answer:It is intended for gas-cleaning workflows associated with sulfur chemiluminescence detection.
Answer:No. It purifies a gas stream and is not a liquid sample-preparation device.
The Agilent Gas Clean SCD purifier conditions the gas supply used with sulfur chemiluminescence detection by removing water and selected sulfur-containing contaminants. Targeted impurities include hydrogen sulfide, carbonyl sulfide and sulfur dioxide, which can introduce unwanted background into sulfur-sensitive detection workflows. By reducing these contaminants before they reach the analytical system, the purifier supports a cleaner gas stream and more stable detector operation. Position the purifier in the designated gas-cleaning line and use fittings, gas flow direction and operating conditions appropriate to the installation. It is a consumable gas-purification component rather than a sample-preparation cartridge or the sulfur chemiluminescence detector itself. Contamination capacity is finite, so replacement should be driven by gas quality, operating exposure and the maintenance plan. Verify gas purity and possible leaks after changing the purifier, especially before low-level sulfur measurements where background contributes heavily to quantitative uncertainty.
