Application Note

The Agilent chemical ionization source filament is a replacement ion-source component for supported gas chromatography/mass spectrometry systems. It supplies electron emission for operation of a compatible chemical ionization (CI) source and is used during scheduled or corrective GC/MS maintenance. The two-pack is specified for supported Agilent 5973, 5975, 5977, 7000A/B/C and 7200 series instruments when configured with the relevant CI source. This is a filament assembly, not an entire ion source and not a general-purpose GC detector consumable. Select the filament based on the instrument’s actual source configuration; electron ionization and chemical ionization assemblies must not be assumed interchangeable. After replacement, follow appropriate venting, vacuum recovery, tuning and performance-check procedures.
