Answer:The quartz axial pre-optics window is specified for compatible Agilent 5100, 5110, 5800 and 5900 ICP-OES models.
Answer:It is the quartz replacement glass for the axial optical path; radial-view window components are different.
Answer:Deposits or damage on the optical surface can reduce emitted-light transmission and adversely affect analytical sensitivity.
The Agilent quartz replacement window is an optical maintenance component for the axial-view pre-optics assembly of compatible 5000 series ICP-OES instruments, including the 5100, 5110, 5800 and 5900. In axial viewing, the spectrometer collects light along the plasma axis and passes emitted radiation through the pre-optics window toward the detection system. Deposits, residue or damage to that window can reduce optical transmission and affect elemental measurement sensitivity. The replacement quartz glass restores the optical surface in an otherwise serviceable window assembly. It is distinct from the radial-view replacement window, the associated window O-ring and the complete pre-optics mounting hardware. Follow the instrument shutdown and cooling procedure before opening the assembly. Handle the clean optical surface by the edges, avoid abrasive wiping and use approved cleaning materials. Check the mating seal and support components separately during reassembly. Following replacement, perform the specified instrument optical and analytical performance checks, including wavelength calibration or sensitivity verification when required by the maintenance procedure.
