Answer:Luna C18(2) bonded reversed-phase silica with 100 Å pores.
Answer:150 × 3.0 mm, packed with 5 µm particles.
Answer:No. Compatible guard cartridges and holders are separate accessories.
The Luna C18(2) reversed-phase HPLC column separates moderately nonpolar and hydrophobic analytes by interactions with its bonded octadecyl stationary phase. This analytical format uses 5 µm silica particles, a 100 Å pore structure, a 150 mm length and a 3.0 mm internal diameter. The C18(2) bonding chemistry supports reproducible retention and selectivity in water-organic mobile phases, including methanol or acetonitrile mixtures with suitable modifiers. Applications include pharmaceutical compound profiling, food contaminant research and LC methods for mycotoxins such as zearalenone and selected trichothecenes. Sample filtration and appropriate solvent compatibility improve column service life, while an optional matching guard cartridge can reduce exposure to strongly retained matrix components. Establish column equilibration and injection solvent strength before comparing retention times or peak shapes. Optimize flow, gradient and detector settings around the intended assay rather than transferring settings from a different column diameter. This is one packed analytical HPLC column, not a guard cartridge.
