Application Note

Sartorius Grade 13400 glass microfiber filter discs are hydrophilic depth-filter media for particulate capture and prefiltration of liquids ahead of finer membrane filtration. The white discs have a 279 mm diameter, a nominal 0.39 mm thickness and a glass microfiber structure containing a binder. Their fibrous matrix supports retention of suspended matter while helping protect downstream filters from premature loading. The grade is suited to clarification and liquid prefiltration rather than serving as a specified 0.2 µm sterilizing membrane. The discs are delivered nonsterile and bulk packed, with 50 pieces per pack. Their defined diameter allows selection of suitably sized filter holders and prefilter assemblies.
