Answer:Each hydrophilic polyamide filter disc has a 0.2 µm pore rating and a 293 mm diameter.
Answer:The package contains 100 white membrane discs, supplied nonsterile.
Answer:Not necessarily. Polyamide can exhibit relatively high nonspecific adsorption, so low-binding membranes may be preferable for recovery-sensitive samples.
Sartorius type 25007 membrane filter discs are hydrophilic polyamide (nylon) membranes with a 0.2 µm pore rating and a large 293 mm diameter. The nonsterile white discs are supplied in a package of 100 and are designed for laboratory filtration of compatible aqueous solutions and organic solvent mixtures. Polyamide combines mechanical durability with broad solvent and alkaline chemical resistance, making it useful in sample and mobile-phase preparation. Its relatively high nonspecific adsorption may be unsuitable for recovery-sensitive protein or analyte applications, so membrane choice must reflect the target sample. Install each disc in a correctly sized holder with an intact seal and use recommended pressure and flow conditions to avoid bypass or membrane damage. The hydrophilic membrane can be wetted with appropriate compatible liquids before use. Confirm solvent compatibility and any sterilization procedure before filtration; the disc is not delivered sterile. The 0.2 µm rating describes the membrane pore grade and is not automatically a validated sterility assurance claim for every liquid or assembly.
