Answer:S080 has a nominal 0.8 µm depth-filtration retention rating.
Answer:1.9 square metres of filtration area.
Answer:No. It is a depth filter for clarification, not a sterilizing-grade membrane filter.
The Sartorius Sartoclear S080 single-layer depth filter module is a 12-inch lenticular filtration element for clarification of bioprocess fluids. Its cellulose and diatomaceous-earth depth-filter medium has a nominal 0.8 µm retention grade and a specified filtration area of 1.9 m². The single-layer construction supports particle removal from process intermediates and selected post-harvest streams, where the solids loading and product-recovery requirements match this grade. The module uses a flat adapter interface and requires a suitable stainless-steel filter housing for operation. It can support clarification steps involving cell-culture material, precipitates and other particulate loads, but it must be qualified against the process feed. Monitor differential pressure, filtrate clarity and product recovery during scale-up to avoid premature loading or undesired adsorption. The module is suitable for in-line steam sterilization at 121 °C for 30 minutes at 1 bar under specified conditions. It is not a sterilizing-grade membrane cartridge and must not be described as guaranteeing microbial retention.
