Application Note

The Shimadzu uncoated quartz glass liner is designed for programmed-temperature vaporizing injection in an OCI/PTV-2010 inlet. Its wool-free bore allows sample vaporization without a packed glass-wool bed, making it suitable for methods that specify a bare quartz liner. Quartz construction tolerates the thermal cycling associated with temperature-programmed injection, while the un-deactivated surface must be considered when analyzing compounds susceptible to adsorption. Appropriate liner choice influences solvent expansion, sample transfer and peak shape. The inlet method should specify the correct liner geometry and injection mode before installation; this component is not a universal split/splitless GC liner.
