Answer:The lamp provides element-specific emission for sodium and potassium atomic absorption methods.
Answer:Yes. Compatible Agilent AA instruments can recognize the lamp identification automatically.
Answer:No. It is an optical emission source; analyte calibration solutions are purchased and prepared separately.
The Agilent sodium and potassium coded multi-element hollow cathode lamp is an excitation source for flame or furnace atomic absorption methods targeting Na and K. It combines characteristic sodium and potassium emission lines in one lamp assembly so laboratories can run relevant element-specific methods without installing separate hollow cathode sources for each metal. The integrated coding allows compatible Agilent AA instruments to identify the lamp automatically during instrument setup. Its 38 mm outer diameter corresponds to the coded Agilent AA lamp format. The lamp is intended for atomic absorption spectroscopy and does not contain sodium or potassium calibration solutions. Measurements still require the correct analytical wavelength, lamp current, atomization settings and matrix-appropriate calibration. Routine checks of emission stability, warm-up behavior and baseline response help identify lamp aging or incorrect instrument setup. The presence of both elements in one lamp does not make the source a simultaneous multichannel detector.
