Agilent ZORBAX 300Å SCX is a strong cation-exchange HPLC column for charge-based separation of peptides, proteins, and other positively charged analytes. The 250 × 4.6 mm stainless-steel column contains 5 µm silica particles with a 300 Å pore structure that accommodates biomolecules larger than those typically targeted by small-pore reversed-phase packings. Its SCX stationary phase retains analytes through ionic interactions rather than conventional hydrophobic C18 retention. Buffer pH and ionic strength control selectivity and elution in ion-exchange workflows. The column has a 350 bar pressure rating, a specified pH range of 2–7, and a maximum temperature of 80 °C.
