ZORBAX StableBond CN Column, 4.6 x 150 mm, 5 µm, 400 bar is used for chromatographic separations where cyano selectivity is useful for polar compounds and where method conditions may span normal-phase, reversed-phase, or SFC operation. The column contains fully porous 5 µm particles with an 80 Å pore size and an SB-CN bonded phase. Its 4.6 mm inner diameter and 150 mm length fit conventional analytical HPLC formats, while the 400 bar pressure rating supports standard HPLC operation. The phase is not endcapped and has a 4% carbon load, giving it a selectivity profile distinct from longer-chain C8 and C18 phases. The usable pH range is 1–8. Temperature limits are 80 °C at pH 1–6 and 40 °C at pH 6–8, which supports demanding low-pH methods while defining a more conservative temperature range at higher pH. This combination makes the column useful for pharmaceutical, environmental, food, and biochemical separations when polar retention, cyano-phase selectivity, or flexibility between chromatographic modes is important. It is shipped in methanol/water and uses conventional column hardware.
