The Agilent ZORBAX StableBond 300 C8 analytical column is designed for reversed-phase HPLC of peptides, proteins and other analytes that benefit from a wide-pore bonded phase. It contains fully porous 5 µm particles with 300 Å pores and a C8 surface in a 4.6 × 150 mm stainless-steel column body. The StableBond ligand chemistry supports low-pH mobile-phase operation, which can be useful for biomolecular separation methods. A C8 phase generally provides a different hydrophobic retention balance from a C18 phase, making it a valuable option when strongly retained peptides or proteins require adjusted selectivity. Condition the column with compatible solvents, avoid precipitation during gradient changes and monitor system pressure within the 400 bar column rating. Use a peptide or protein reference standard to establish resolution, repeatability and carryover performance before sample sequences. A chemically matched 300 C8 guard can help protect the analytical bed, but guard hardware and dimensions must be verified separately.
