Answer:13,000 Da (Mp).
Answer:1 g of PEG polymer standard.
Answer:No. Mp is peak molecular weight; use the certificate for lot-specific values.
The Agilent Polyethylene Glycol GPC/SEC Standard with a nominal peak molecular weight of 13,000 Da is an individual polymer calibration material supplied in a 1 g quantity. Its PEG composition is appropriate for developing size-exclusion chromatography calibrations in water and compatible polar solvents. When injected into a suitably selected SEC column, the standard contributes a known reference point relating elution volume to the molecular-size distribution of the calibration polymer. A 13,000 Da nominal Mp point is useful in the lower-to-intermediate portion of aqueous polymer calibration curves, particularly when combined with lower and higher mass references. Prepare solutions at suitable concentration, filter only when the method permits and avoid contamination or prolonged storage conditions that alter the solution. Nominal Mp describes the molecular-weight value at the peak of the distribution and is not automatically the weight-average molecular weight. Review the lot-specific certificate for actual characterization values before constructing quantitative calibration curves.
