Bio-Rad Anti-Rabies Nucleocapsid Conjugate is a liquid fluorescent antibody reagent for detecting rabies virus nucleocapsid antigen in appropriately prepared samples. The fluorescein-labeled conjugate binds its target antigen and permits visualization of positive staining by fluorescence microscopy. This 0.5 mL presentation is used in direct fluorescent antibody methods and rabies research or validated detection workflows, including microscopic examination of appropriately fixed specimens or infected-cell preparations. Interpretation relies on suitable positive and negative controls, correct sample fixation, matching microscope filter settings and an established assay procedure. Signal from this conjugate reflects antigen staining rather than direct quantification of virus-neutralizing antibody titers without the other steps of a validated neutralization assay. This product is a specific conjugated antibody reagent, not a complete diagnostic kit, vaccine, rabies antigen preparation or molecular PCR reagent.
