Answer:It reduces β-1,3-glucan interference that can cause false-positive LAL responses.
Answer:The product contains five 5 mL vials.
Answer:Yes. It is intended as an accessory reagent when glucan interference must be controlled during LAL testing.
β-G-Blocker is an accessory reagent for Limulus Amebocyte Lysate testing when β-1,3-glucans could cause non-endotoxin activation and false-positive assay results. This configuration contains five 5 mL vials. Potential glucan sources include yeast-derived materials and cellulosic products such as some filtration media. The blocker can be used with Lonza LAL assays when glucan interference needs to be reduced so the test response more specifically reflects bacterial endotoxin. It is particularly useful during method development or sample-interference investigations where a positive result may be caused by glucan-sensitive pathways rather than endotoxin. Standard PYROGENT gel-clot products generally do not require the blocker for routine samples, so use is selected based on matrix characteristics and assay validation.
