Answer:They are intended for pyrogen-sensitive bacterial-endotoxin testing such as gel-clot LAL assays.
These pyrogen-free borosilicate glass test tubes are designed for bacterial-endotoxin testing, including PYROGENT® gel-clot LAL assays. The tubes use a 10 × 75 mm format and are supplied with screw caps. They undergo high-temperature depyrogenation during manufacturing so the glassware is suitable for the Bacterial Endotoxins Test without introducing background endotoxin from the reaction vessel. The dimensions match the reaction-tube format used by standard PYROGENT gel-clot protocols. During a gel-clot test, samples and lysate are incubated in the tubes and then evaluated by inverting the vessel to determine whether a firm clot has formed. Using dedicated pyrogen-free glassware helps reduce contamination risk and supports reproducible interpretation of qualitative endotoxin results.
