The PerkinElmer Viton Torch Ball-Joint O-Ring is a replacement seal for the ball-joint area of compatible Optima ICP-OES quartz-torch assemblies. This fluoroelastomer ring has a 29.74 mm inner diameter and a 3.53 mm cross-sectional width, dimensions that distinguish it from smaller torch seals used elsewhere in the assembly. Proper sealing at the torch joint helps maintain stable gas delivery and minimizes leakage during routine plasma operation. Inspect the original ring for wear, deformation, chemical damage or surface contamination whenever the torch is disassembled. Fit the new O-ring into its specified seating location without twisting or trapping debris, then check assembly integrity before reigniting the plasma. The component is also used within certain complete torch O-ring maintenance kits, but this item is the ball-joint ring rather than the entire kit. It is not a quartz torch, mounting adapter or nebulizer connection.
