PerkinElmer Lumina seven-element hollow cathode lamps support multi-element flame atomic absorption workflows using a common lamp source. The 50 mm lamp contains emission capability for aluminum, calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, silicon, and zinc. Changing the element analyzed still requires the corresponding wavelength, slit, flame conditions, calibration standards, and background-correction settings in the AA method. Multi-element lamp convenience does not remove the need to optimize each element individually, and some analytical lines may be weaker than those from dedicated single-element lamps. This multi-element lamp is not intended for graphite-furnace AA operation. Analysis of aluminum and silicon with this lamp requires nitrous oxide–acetylene flame conditions where specified by the method. Confirm that the instrument and flame system support the required gases and operating mode before use. Install the lamp in a compatible PinAAcle or AAnalyst optical position, allow source stabilization, and verify element-specific performance with appropriate control samples.
