Answer:The single-element hollow cathode lamp produces cadmium-specific atomic absorption lines.
Answer:It is a 50 mm Lumina lamp intended for compatible PerkinElmer PinAAcle and AAnalyst AA instruments.
Answer:No. Quantitation requires a compatible spectrometer, atomization method, calibration standards, and matrix-appropriate quality controls.
PerkinElmer Lumina cadmium hollow cathode lamps provide narrow, element-specific emission lines for atomic absorption spectrometry. The single-element 50 mm lamp is designed for compatible PinAAcle and AAnalyst AA systems and provides the cadmium source required for methods analyzing trace cadmium in environmental, food, industrial, or other prepared samples. A hollow cathode source generates characteristic radiation by exciting atoms associated with the element-specific cathode. The instrument measures attenuation of this light by cadmium atoms in the sample introduction and atomization system. Confirm instrument socket, automatic lamp identification, and any older-system adapter requirements before fitting the lamp. Apply the prescribed lamp-current and warm-up procedure for the installed instrument, then run blanks, calibration standards, and suitable quality controls. Detection performance also depends on atomization mode, sample matrix, spectral background, and contamination control. Replace the source if stability or intensity no longer meets laboratory acceptance criteria.
