QIAGEN Buffer ATL is a lysis reagent used in nucleic-acid extraction workflows, including specified QIAsymphony DSP Virus/Pathogen and DNA tissue protocols. The supplied configuration consists of four 50 mL bottles, providing 200 mL in total. The buffer facilitates sample disruption and release of nucleic acids during the designated upstream lysis stage; it is not an independent DNA purification kit. Successful extraction depends on the complete validated sample preparation workflow, which may require other reagents, equipment and subsequent binding and wash steps. Use the volumes, incubation conditions and sample inputs defined in the relevant QIAsymphony protocol, and treat biological specimens under applicable biosafety controls. The composition and intended use should not be extrapolated to all sample types or to alternative extraction methods without method qualification. Do not substitute general-purpose cell lysis formulations for this kit-specific reagent.
