The Biowelder TC tube holder for 1/4-inch internal-diameter and 7/16-inch outer-diameter tubing positions compatible thermoplastic tubing within the Sartorius Biowelder Total Containment automated welding instrument. The corresponding metric dimensions are approximately 6.4 mm ID and 11.1 mm OD. This holder is used for thicker-wall 1/4-inch-bore tubing in bioprocess connections, where a secure tube position is necessary for a repeatable sterile connection. Its thicker nominal wall differentiates this option from the 1/4-inch ID by 3/8-inch OD holder and changes how the tubing fits the clamp. The instrument recognizes the installed holder size. Two matching holder components are supplied per box. Prepare clean, undamaged tube ends, select the compatible tubing type and verify the assigned weld program before operation. Do not substitute the thinner-wall holder: matching the bore without matching the outside diameter can compromise positioning. This item is a reusable positioning accessory, not a complete welding machine, replacement blade, tubing assembly or sterile connector.
