Answer:Its more open nominal cutoff changes the retention and permeation profile, allowing comparison for larger molecules and assemblies.
Answer:No. Retention depends on molecular size and shape, buffer conditions and membrane interactions, so recovery must be tested with the actual feed.
Answer:Four disposable Ambr CF filter cassettes, each with 10 cm² of polyethersulfone membrane.
The Ambr CF polyethersulfone 100 kDa filter cassette supports ultrafiltration process screening where a relatively open molecular-weight cutoff is required. Installed in the Ambr Crossflow system, the 10 cm² disposable membrane can be used to evaluate high-molecular-weight protein retention, permeate throughput and the behavior of larger molecular assemblies. Compared with the 10 or 30 kDa PES versions, this 100 kDa membrane offers a different selectivity window, making it relevant for membrane selection studies involving large biologics or aggregates. Retention cannot be inferred from molecular weight alone: molecular shape, solution conditions and membrane interactions affect actual transmission. The small-format cassette is intended for automated parallel testing of pressure, flow and diafiltration strategies before scale-up. Polyethersulfone provides an established membrane chemistry for bioprocess applications. Supply is four individual 10 cm² cassettes per box, not a full-scale production filter.
