Agilent, 112-88A7, J&W HP-88 GC Column, 100 m, 0.25 mm, 0.20 µm, 7 inch cage

The Agilent J&W HP-88 fused-silica capillary GC column provides a highly polar stationary phase for separation of fatty acid methyl ester isomers and other applications requiring high cyanopropyl selectivity. Its dimensions are 100 m in length, 0.25 mm internal diameter and 0.20 µm film thickness, supplied on a conventional 7-inch cage without a Smart Key. The high-polarity chemistry is particularly relevant to resolving cis/trans and positional isomers in fatty-acid profiling; it is not equivalent in selectivity to a nonpolar HP-1 or DB-5 column. The current product specification gives a temperature range of 0 to 250/260 °C, with different upper limits for isothermal and programmed use. Long-column methods require appropriate carrier-gas flow, inlet settings and oven conditions. Apply the correct conditioning procedure and avoid solvent rinsing unless explicitly supported for this stationary phase.
