Answer:They contain 85% Vespel polyimide and 15% graphite.
Answer:The ferrules have a 0.5 mm nominal inner diameter and are intended for compatible 0.32 mm ID GC capillary columns.
Answer:The pack contains ten ferrules and the specified maximum temperature is 350 °C.
The Agilent Vespel/graphite capillary GC ferrules are compression-sealing fittings for connections involving 0.32 mm internal-diameter capillary columns. Each ferrule has a nominal 0.5 mm internal diameter and is formed from 85% Vespel polyimide and 15% graphite. A package contains ten ferrules. The mixed polymer–graphite material supports reliable column sealing in appropriate GC and GC/MS inlet, detector or transfer connections while reducing some of the fragility associated with all-graphite ferrules. The maximum stated temperature is 350 °C. Correct ferrule selection is based on the column outer diameter and the mating fitting geometry; the capillary's nominal internal diameter alone is not a substitute for fit verification. Make a clean column cut, orient the ferrule as required and tighten the fitting without cracking or constricting the column. After installation, check for leaks before heating the oven or operating with hazardous carrier gases. Replace damaged or excessively compressed ferrules rather than reusing them indefinitely. These are mechanical sealing components, not inlet septa or filtration membranes.
