Agilent 47 mm hydrophilic nylon membrane filters with a 0.20 µm pore rating are intended for solvent and mobile-phase filtration in liquid chromatography workflows. These are loose circular membranes rather than syringe filters. The 47 mm diameter fits the Agilent InfinityLab solvent filtration assembly and other appropriately sized membrane-holding systems. The nylon membrane removes fine suspended particles from suitable alkaline solutions and selected organic solvents before they reach pumps, valves, capillaries and analytical columns. A 0.20 µm membrane is especially useful when preparing particle-sensitive liquid chromatography mobile phases. Nylon is not universally resistant to every solvent or pH condition; verify the complete composition and avoid solutions that are incompatible with polyamide. Operate the membrane inside a clean, properly assembled holder and discard it after the validated use interval. The membranes are supplied non-sterile, in packs of 100, and are not a substitute for a sterilizing-grade validated filter.
