Answer:It is a 1 L roughing-pump lubricant for specified oil-sealed vacuum pumps used with GC/MS instruments.
Answer:No. The original fluid is obsolete and has a designated successor.
Answer:Agilent Vacuum Fluid 45 Platinum is the named replacement; confirm pump compatibility before ordering.
Agilent Vacuum Fluid 45 Gold is a vacuum pump oil originally specified for maintenance of compatible oil-sealed roughing pumps used with gas chromatography–mass spectrometry systems. The 1 L container supplies fluid for routine pump oil replacement when the instrument's servicing instructions call for this lubricant grade. Suitable pump oil supports the lubrication and sealing of internal moving surfaces and helps maintain stable rough vacuum performance. Before replacing oil, identify the installed roughing-pump model, isolate the pump from the instrument, and follow the manufacturer's draining, fill-level, and waste-disposal instructions. Oil type and fill volume must be chosen for the pump rather than inferred from the mass spectrometer model alone. This original Vacuum Fluid 45 Gold product is obsolete; Agilent identifies Vacuum Fluid 45 Platinum as its replacement. The replacement should be ordered for future maintenance, subject to the current pump and service-document compatibility requirements. The original item should not be treated as an actively supplied consumable.
