Agilent J&W HayeSep Q packed GC columns provide a porous-polymer stationary phase for gas chromatographic separations of suitable volatile compounds and permanent-gas mixtures under validated conditions. The pretested column is packed with HayeSep Q, 80/100 mesh, in UltiMetal tubing. Its physical dimensions are 1 m in length, 1/8 inch outside diameter and 2 mm internal diameter. Packed-column formats offer a different sampling capacity and selectivity from open-tubular capillary GC columns, making accurate matching of the gas sampling system, oven program and detector especially important. The packed bed can be damaged by unsuitable flow conditions or contamination, so install the column with the specified fittings and use the appropriate carrier gas and conditioning protocol. Confirm the validated method's temperature limits and gas flow before operation; do not infer them from other HayeSep packings or different column dimensions. Each order unit contains one pretested packed column.
