Avantor Ultrasphere ODS is an analytical reversed-phase HPLC column packed with 5 µm octadecyl-bonded, endcapped silica with 80 Å pores. Its 250 × 4.6 mm stainless-steel analytical format provides a longer separation bed for established small-molecule methods using hydrophobic retention. Ultrasphere ODS columns are relevant when reproducing legacy chromatographic conditions where the stationary-phase chemistry and column dimensions influence retention and selectivity. The packing is a conventional silica-based C18 phase; it is not an ion-exchange or guard-column cartridge.
