The Cytiva Whatman Three-Piece Filter Funnel is a separable laboratory filtration assembly with a 210 mL reservoir for processing larger sample volumes per fill. It accepts a 70 mm filter medium and provides a 50 mm effective filtration diameter, giving approximately 19.6 cm² of active filtration area. The reservoir is taller than that of the 115 mL version, but the functional filtration area remains the same. a larger reservoir capacity increases the amount of liquid that can be loaded without increasing the membrane area. Assemble the filtration support and seal carefully, place an appropriately selected filter medium, and maintain a suitable vacuum level for the liquid and filter combination. Dismantle and clean the three-piece system after use to prevent cross-contamination between samples. The filter funnel is supplied as one assembly; filter media are selected separately. It is not a vacuum pump, filter paper package, or self-contained sterile filtration system.
