Aervent® Opticap® XL 10 is a hydrophobic PTFE capsule for sterile air and gas filtration in bioprocess and pharmaceutical systems. This configuration uses a 0.2 µm membrane in a nominal 10-inch capsule and has 1.5-inch sanitary flange connections at both inlet and outlet. The hydrophobic PTFE membrane resists wetting by aqueous process fluids while allowing gas flow, making the capsule suitable for sterile venting, tank breathing, compressed-gas filtration, and protection of process vessels or transfer assemblies. Maximum operating pressure is 80 psi at 25 °C. The self-contained Opticap XL format avoids a separate reusable housing and provides a disposable, ready-to-install gas-filtration element for controlled processing environments.
