Answer:The Viresolve Prefilter Pod provides 0.11 m² of filtration area.
Answer:The filter matrix contains cellulose fibers and inorganic filter aid.
Answer:No. It is a prefilter placed before a dedicated virus-retentive membrane device.
The Viresolve Prefilter Pod is a 0.11 m² depth-prefiltration module used upstream of parvovirus-retentive virus filters in biopharmaceutical purification. Its cellulose-fiber matrix with an inorganic filter aid removes feed contaminants that could otherwise reduce the throughput of a final virus filter. The Pod configuration has disposable 1.5-inch tri-clamp process connections and is designed for installation in a compatible Millistak+ Pod holder. It supports process development and pilot-scale evaluation with appropriate protein feeds. This product is a prefilter, not a final virus-removal membrane; viral clearance claims must be established for the dedicated downstream virus filter. Plan wetting, flushing, differential pressure and post-use handling using validated process instructions.
