Merck, T3038-1L, Trizma® hydrochloride solution

Trizma hydrochloride solution is a ready-prepared 1 M Tris-HCl buffer solution at pH 8.0 for molecular biology and general laboratory buffer preparation. The BioReagent formulation is 0.2 µm filtered, with manufacturer testing reporting no detectable DNase, RNase, NICKase, or protease impurities under the applicable quality tests. Supplied in a 1 L bottle, the stock solution simplifies preparation of working concentrations for nucleic-acid and protein workflows while reducing the weighing and dissolution steps associated with solid Tris reagents. Calculate the required final dilution for the intended protocol, account for any other buffer constituents, and measure working-solution pH where the method requires it. Tris buffering behavior changes with temperature, so temperature consistency matters when setting tightly controlled pH values. The solution is not an all-purpose substitute for Tris base or preformulated EDTA-containing buffers. Use clean vessels to prevent contamination.
