Amicon® Ultra Centrifugal Filter, 10 kDa MWCO is designed for centrifugal concentration and buffer exchange of macromolecular samples in a 0.5 mL device. The Ultracel regenerated-cellulose membrane provides a nominal 10 kDa molecular-weight cutoff and 1 cm² of filtration area. The unit accepts up to 500 µL of sample and uses a polypropylene tube and cap with a styrene-butadiene housing. The membrane is hydrophilic and selected for recovery of proteins and other macromolecules retained by this cutoff. Centrifugation passes solvent and smaller solutes through the membrane while retaining larger molecules in the upper reservoir, allowing concentration or exchange of the surrounding buffer. This bulk format contains 500 non-sterile filter devices rather than the smaller 24-unit package. It is suitable for repeated sample-preparation workflows in laboratories that process many individual protein samples while retaining the compact 0.5 mL device geometry. The 10 kDa designation describes nominal membrane separation characteristics; actual recovery and passage depend on the sample and operating conditions.
