Answer:The 30-inch capsule has a 1.8 m² filtration area, with a 0.45 µm prefilter and 0.2 µm final-retention membrane.
Answer:Both ends use matching 1.5-inch sanitary tri-clamp connection interfaces.
Answer:The Sartobran P filter uses low-binding cellulose acetate membrane material rather than a PES membrane.
The Sartorius Sartobran P Maxicaps capsule is a 30-inch, inline sterile filtration device for large-scale bioprocessing fluids. Its cellulose acetate filter structure combines a 0.45 µm prefilter stage with a 0.2 µm final-retention membrane, providing a nominal filtration area of 1.8 m². Low protein binding is useful in downstream processing of valuable biologics, vaccines and plasma-derived materials where product recovery matters. This configuration has 1.5-inch sanitary connections on both inlet and outlet and is an autoclavable inline Maxicaps format, not the T-style or hose-barb variant. The device is supplied autoclaved sterile, with operating limits and integrity-test criteria governed by the validated process procedure. Before installation, confirm the process fluid compatibility, pressure differential and matching sanitary connection hardware. Follow the approved wetting, integrity testing and filtration process, and avoid exceeding published limits during operation or reverse-flow handling. After use, document filter identification and process performance under the applicable quality system.
