Application Note

Virosart HC Minisart is a small-scale polyethersulfone virus filter designed for screening process conditions with hydrophobic biopharmaceutical feeds, including immunoglobulin and plasma-derived streams. Its 5 cm² membrane area allows laboratory evaluation of filtration behavior before using larger Virosart HC formats. The nominal membrane rating is 20 nm, with Luer-lock connections facilitating small-volume test assemblies. This nonsterile, autoclavable variant is supplied in a box of five. Unlike a separate integrity-tested Minisart version, the five-pack is not described as individually integrity tested. Monitor process pressure, throughput and filtrate quality during evaluation, and perform the appropriate viral clearance and integrity assessments for the intended process rather than assuming family-level validation transfers without qualification.
