The Sartopure IND 5 µm cartridge is a layered polypropylene depth-style prefilter for industrial liquids, water and beverage process streams. Its multiple pleated polypropylene fleece layers provide particulate holding capacity upstream of finer membrane filtration or other sensitive process equipment. The 30-inch cartridge has a nominal filtration area of 1.8 m² and is supplied as a 25-piece package. A double-open-ended design with flat-gasket adapter supports compatible cartridge housings. Applications include beverage prefiltration, industrial process clarification and water filtration where removal of suspended solids can protect downstream stages. Evaluate the liquid's particle load, required flow and acceptable differential pressure before specifying a prefilter train. The polypropylene construction is suitable for a broad range of compatible cleaning chemicals, but cleaning conditions and filter performance must be qualified for the actual process. This is a 5 µm prefilter, not a 0.2 µm sterilizing membrane filter.
