Answer:It combines reversed-phase retention with weak cation-exchange selectivity.
Answer:The column is 4.6 mm in internal diameter and 150 mm long.
Answer:This configuration contains 5 µm particles.
Acclaim™ Mixed-Mode WCX-1 HPLC Column is used to separate cationic molecules by combining reversed-phase and weak cation-exchange retention in one stationary phase. This configuration is a 4.6 × 150 mm analytical column packed with 5 µm silica-based particles. The bonded phase contains a hydrophobic alkyl chain terminated with a carboxyl group, so retention can be adjusted through both hydrophobic interactions and charge-based ion exchange. This mixed-mode selectivity is useful for compounds that are difficult to resolve using conventional reversed-phase columns alone, including basic pharmaceuticals and other ionizable analytes. Mobile-phase pH, ionic strength and organic-solvent content can be adjusted to control selectivity. The standard 4.6 mm internal diameter makes the column suitable for routine HPLC methods and conventional laboratory flow rates.
