Invitrogen 100 bp DNA Ladder provides defined double-stranded DNA fragments for sizing and approximate mass comparison during agarose-gel electrophoresis. Thirteen chromatography-purified fragments span 100 to 2,000 bp, with prominent reference bands at 600, 1,500 and 2,000 bp to support rapid lane identification. The supplied ladder contains 100 µL of DNA at 0.5 µg/µL plus 1 mL of 10X BlueJuice loading buffer, sufficient for approximately 100 applications. Prepare each lane by combining the ladder with loading buffer and nuclease-free water; the DNA is not supplied ready to load. A 1–2% agarose gel generally provides useful resolution across the stated size range. Visualize resolved fragments with a compatible nucleic-acid stain such as ethidium bromide or SYBR Safe. Compare band positions with sample DNA to estimate fragment sizes, avoiding overloading or heating that may impair migration. Store the ladder at −20°C.
