Thermo Scientific Nunc optical-bottom 96-well microplates are designed for cell-based fluorescence imaging and microscopy-compatible assays where optical access through a transparent well base is necessary. Each plate combines a black polystyrene well frame with a clear optical polymer bottom and a tissue-culture-treated surface that supports adhesion of compatible cell types. The 96 wells are arranged in an 8 × 12 layout; nominal well capacity is 400 µL, with a typical working range of approximately 50–200 µL per well. These plates are supplied sterile with lids, in packs of ten plates and a case quantity of thirty. The black frame helps reduce optical cross-talk, while the transparent floor supports bottom-read imaging; it is not an opaque black-bottom plate. Choose an imaging reader with compatible plate geometry, objective working distance and optical settings. Cell attachment and background fluorescence should be verified for the specific cell assay.
