Application Note

CTS™ NK-Xpander™ Medium is used for feeder-free expansion of human natural killer cells in cell therapy development and manufacturing workflows. The liquid, serum-free basal medium is formulated specifically to support robust growth of human NK cells. When enriched human NK cells are cultured with the medium together with appropriate serum supplementation and IL-2, expanded populations can maintain the characteristic CD56-positive, CD16-positive, CD3-negative phenotype at high frequency. This configuration contains 500 mL in a bottle and includes the matched supplement required by the product system. The basal medium is stored at 2–8°C protected from light, while the supplement is stored frozen. The medium is suitable for workflows that need clinically relevant NK-cell expansion while reducing dependence on feeder cells and providing a more standardized culture system for translational cell therapy processes.
