Answer:The kit is configured for 15 tests and contains five three-well comet assay slides.
Answer:Following cell embedding, lysis and electrophoresis, a fluorescent DNA dye enables observation of comet-like DNA migration with fluorescence microscopy.
Answer:No. Migration patterns reflect DNA damage under the selected assay conditions and must be interpreted with appropriate controls and additional measurements when lesion specificity matters.
The Comet Assay Kit with 3-well slides provides a single-cell gel electrophoresis workflow for examining DNA strand breakage and related cellular DNA damage. Cells are embedded in agarose on treated slides, lysed and exposed to appropriate alkaline or neutral electrophoresis conditions. DNA migration away from the nucleoid forms a comet-shaped distribution that can be visualized using fluorescent staining and microscopy. The 15-test format includes five three-well slides, together with comet agarose, lysis solution, EDTA solution and fluorescent DNA dye. Maintain consistent sample handling, electrophoresis conditions and image-analysis criteria across experimental groups. Include untreated and suitably damaged-cell controls because comet-tail metrics are method-dependent and do not independently identify the mechanism or cause of DNA injury.
