Answer:The inserts fit the specified 4 mL autosampler wash/waste vial format.
Answer:No. The pack contains 12 polypropylene cap inserts; vials and septa are not included.
Answer:They help reduce evaporation from wash solvents kept in autosampler vials.
Agilent diffusion cap inserts are replacement accessories for 4 mL autosampler wash and waste vials used in analytical instrument workflows. The polypropylene insert is designed for diffusion-cap assemblies to help limit solvent evaporation while wash solvents or waste liquids remain in the autosampler tray. The insert is compatible with the designated 4 mL wash/waste vial format; the vials themselves are supplied separately. Twelve inserts are provided per pack. These inserts do not include septa and must not be confused with sample-vial caps intended for sealed sample storage. During maintenance, inspect the wash vial assembly for cracks, evaporation losses or solvent contamination. Replace missing or damaged inserts, ensure the cap assembly is seated correctly, and check that the autosampler's wash needle can move freely without obstruction. Verify chemical compatibility with the solvents in the established wash protocol and replace solvent before prolonged storage as required by the method.
