Answer:It is designed for 20 mm crimp caps on compatible laboratory vials. Confirm vial neck and closure dimensions before use.
Answer:No. Crimping tools secure caps; removal requires a compatible decapper.
Answer:Seat the septum and cap evenly, adjust the crimping force correctly and inspect the finished closure for deformation or looseness.
The Agilent ergonomic manual crimper closes 20 mm crimp caps over compatible laboratory vial openings, providing a repeatable mechanical seal for headspace and other capped-vial workflows. A lightweight hand-operated body and adjustable crimping action support routine use without a powered crimping station. Position the cap and septum squarely on a compatible vial, center the jaws over the aluminum cap and complete the handle stroke. Inspect the final closure for a uniform skirt, secure fit and undamaged septum before loading the vial into an instrument. Correct crimp force matters: a loose cap can compromise containment, while overcrimping can deform the closure or damage the vial finish. Match the crimper to the 20 mm cap format; tools for 11 mm closures are not interchangeable. Clean the jaw area and inspect tool wear as part of routine maintenance.
