The Agilent flame ionization detector cleaning maintenance kit supports preventive servicing of the FID collector assembly on compatible gas chromatographs. The kit contains an ignitor glow plug, two PTFE collector insulators, a detector housing gasket, cleaning brushes and a jet cleaning wire. It is intended for a maintenance procedure in which selected components are replaced and other collector parts are cleaned, rather than replacing the entire detector collector assembly. The relevant instructions cover supported 7890, 7820, 6850 and 6890 series gas chromatographs, subject to installed FID configuration. Power down and cool the detector, isolate gases and follow the manufacturer safety procedure before accessing detector components. Clean deposits without damaging delicate parts, install the new seals and insulators correctly, and reassemble in the specified order. Detector jets and column adapters are purchased separately and must be matched to the instrument. After maintenance, perform leak checks, confirm gas flows and ignition, and verify baseline and analytical response with a suitable method. This kit is not a complete FID replacement.
