Answer:CD169 is also called Siglec-1 or sialoadhesin.
Answer:CD169 is especially relevant to macrophage and dendritic-cell populations.
Answer:No. Their overlapping emission requires careful panel design and suitable spectral controls.
BD Horizon BB515 Mouse Anti-Human Siglec-1 (CD169) antibody uses clone 7-239 to detect an adhesion-related sialic-acid-binding receptor in human samples. Siglec-1, also known as sialoadhesin, is associated with macrophage and dendritic-cell biology and can be modulated during inflammatory signaling. Its expression provides information about selected myeloid activation states when interpreted alongside CD14, CD16, HLA-DR, CD11c or other population markers. The Brilliant Blue 515 conjugate is excited by a blue laser and detected in the green fluorescence region. Because the spectrum overlaps substantially with FITC, allocate panel channels appropriately and use compensation or spectral-unmixing controls. The stated staining volume is 5 µL per test. Include viable-cell and Fc-receptor blocking controls where needed, particularly when analyzing monocytes and macrophages that can bind immunoglobulins nonspecifically. Store the reagent refrigerated and protected from light; do not freeze.
